Placement of Velop
First and foremost step of the process is to find an ideal place to keep your velop nodes. During the setup process of the velop nodes, you should keep the primary node closer to the router/ modem device. This will make it possible to connect the node with the router using cable connection. Furthermore, you can place additional nodes where you want if any. An ideal place for the node placement is the location in between the position of your main network device & the place where you experience issues with the network.
Power Up The Velop
Next step is to power up the velop node. You should connect the power adapter in the velop node power port first. Thereafter you need to connect the adapter plug with the power outlet. Switch on the power and monitor the LED on the node.
Connect The Velop With Router/ Modem
Thereafter you need to connect the modem/ router device with the primary velop node. To establish this connection you need to use an ethernet cable. Plug in the ethernet cable one end in the velop node ethernet port and the other end in the router/ modem’s ethernet port.
Download The Linksys App
To download the linksys app you need to choose a client device. Go to the google play store or app store as per your device system. Search for the linksys app. Open the page and click on install option. Wait till the installation completes.
Create Linksys Account
Once the installation process completes, go to the app and create your linksys account. To create an account you should select “don’t have an account? Click here” option. Thereafter provide the required information and after reading the terms click on create account option.
Setup The Device
User dashboard will display as your account creation process completes. Here you should select the “Set Up a New Wi-Fi Network” option from the menu. Follow the on screen instructions in the app to complete the setup. Create SSID & secured password for your new network.
Add Additional Nodes
In case you have additional nodes then do the setup of the additional devices. For that you should plugin them with the power. Once the node is started, go to the app and choose the “add additional nodes” option. Let the devices establish connection, you need to follow on screen instructions for that. Once it’s done, you’ll notice solid blue light on the node LED. Repeat the process for all additional nodes.
Save, Reposition & Test The Network
To complete the process, click on the “Finalize” option in the app. Thereafter, reposition the nodes if required. Run a speed test by using the app. Furthermore you can test the connection by surfing the internet. In case you find any weak signal area, try repositioning your node devices for optimal performance.
